Artist to Use Creativity to Boost Bronx Maternity Health

The New York Times says an artist-activist will be working with the Tremont Neighborhood Health Action Center as a “creative problem solver” in addressing Bronx health needs.

Taja Lindley, a Brooklyn native, was one of four who were chosen for the 2019 Public Artist in Residence program and her work in the Bronx will deal with eliminating health disparities for black families, in particular on birthing issues.

The Health Action Center is excited to work with Lindley and they say that this out-of-the-box approach can lead to creative problem-solving, as opposed to solving health issues with numbers on a screen.
