The Norwood News reported that the Bronx Buccaneers reclaimed their rights to practice at Williamsbridge Oval Park on Saturdays this spring. The youth football team has been trying to get back their permit for the park for several months.
The Buccaneers’ coach put together an online petition with 700 signatures explaining the details of how the football team was removed from the park in December and replaced by a Manhattan-based football team.
During a meeting held earlier this year, the coach explained that his team had seniority over the field since they had been practicing there for seven seasons.
The article describes the series of meetings and details the complex permit processes that enabled the Bucs to reclaim their turf.
