Bronx Girl is NYPD Commissioner for a Day

An 18-year-old girl from the south Bronx, Beyonce Dennis, worked alongside NYPD commissioner James O’Neill for a day, reports WABC.

The annual ‘Police Commissioner For the Day’ contest arranged by the Police Athletic League chose Beyonce’s essay for the top prize. Her writing focused on her desire to better the relationship between the locals in her neighborhood and police officers.

Over 140 students were recognized for their essays, and the report by WABC featured just a few of the inspiring mindsets these students posses.
