Ethical Culture Students Protest Racism

Ehtical Culture Fieldston School (google maps)

The NY Daily News, abc7ny, and the NY Post, reported that students held a sit-in in the administration building of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in the Bronx. The school’s leadership is being charged for not appropriately responding to a racist video and what protestors say is a culture of racism at the school.

The video, which surfaced last month shows some Fieldston students using racial and homophobic slurs. It went viral and sparked outrage among the student population, but according to the protestors, not enough outrage from the administrators.

In a video in the Daily News article, the students explain a pattern of what they say amounts to ongoing mistreatment of students of color at the school.

The News claims to have broken the story and says the protest was still in effect Monday evening and that the students intended to stay the night.

The Post reported that school officials called the video “unacceptable”.

  1. What really gets to me is when the so called “victims” of this racist language does it to the other side, it’s acceptable and nothing is done. I just give up with all of this .. when racism is real, no one is going to believe it – too much crying wolf.
