BronxTalk – Early Childhood Education

Gregory Brender, the Director of Children & Youth Services at United Neighborhood Houses expressed concern on BronxTalk this week about the City’s plans for early childhood education. (BronxNet screen shot)

The DOE has put out its RFP for early childhood learning centers, but advocates say it raises questions about pay equity, cost escalators, enrollment benchmarks, and more. This week’s BronxTalk on BronxNet examined those issues that are central to the delivery of early childhood education in the Bronx.

Host Gary Axelbank interviewed the Director of Early Childhood Development at one of the borough’s busiest programs and the Director of Children & Youth Services of UNH, the umbrella group that helps manage many of the Bronx’ independent providers to get to the bottom of what would improve early childhood learning in the Bronx.

  1. Mayor DeBlasio should be ashamed of himself. How could he think this is fair. No way should he be considered for President.
