Second Sunday Walking Tour

July 14 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$10

Join the Woodlawn Conservancy on the second Sunday of the month for a tour of Woodlawn’s most storied gravesites.

Our walk through New York and Woodlawn history will take us by the magnificent mausoleums of John H. Harbeck, Alva Belmont, and more, concluding at our famous Jazz Corner and the resting place of the “Queen of Salsa” Celia Cruz.

Learn about the astonishing lives – and immortal after-lives – of Woodlawn’s illustrious residents, and their tales of love, ambition, and influence.

Watch out for lauded names along the way including Fiorello LaGuardia, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, J. C. Penney, and Augustus Julliard.

Marvel at the moving and monumental sculptures, “Memorial to a Marriage” by Patricia Cronin and “The Outcast” by the Piccirilli Brothers, the latter of which was crafted right here in the Bronx.

It’s a Sunday walk you won’t want to miss.

We will be meeting at the Jerome Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue gate at 1:45 PM and the Tour will begin at 2:00 PM

We anticipate this tour selling out quickly so tickets must be purchased in advance.

Tour is rain or shine.  Ticket sales are final.  Refunds will not be issued.

We are located directly across the street from the Woodlawn stop on the #4 subway.

Free parking available in Woodlawn Cemetery.

We look forward to hosting you.
