The NY Times reviewed ‘One Million American Dreams’, a documentary about Hart Island, a potter’s field east of City Island. The film gives relatives of people who are buried there a chance to tell how their loved ones ended up essentially anonymous, buried with a million others.

The Times writes that the stories are heartbreaking because in many cases it’s a lack of funds that kept the family from a proper burial instead of internment at Hart Island.
