With school just around the corner, parents know that it’s important for their children to have the supplies they need for a productive and successful year.
That is why The Bronx Rox, a community organization that brings positive activites to the Bronx, has teamed up with the Bronx Terminal Market and the Hunts Point Alliance for Children (HPAC) to donate slingbags and school supplies that will be given out during HPAC’s back-to-school fair. It will be held at Hunts Point Riverside Park from 11:00 AM to 3:00 Pm on Sunday, September 15th.

As an added feature, beginning right now, for every shirt or tank top purchased through The Bronx Rox’s website, they will donate school supplies and a slingbag to benefit the children of Hunts Point.
The Bronx Rox is known for organizing activities like weekly walks, raising donations for Puerto Rico and Mexico after the natural disasters, and painting over unsightly graffiti tags on private and city property. This book bag initiative is focused on providing youngsters with school supplies and at the same time having impact on the greater good.

“It’s important to build pride for every resident in this borough and to let kids know that we’re looking out for them,” said Michelle Daniels, president of The Bronx Rox. “If we can help them in anyway, we’re willing to do that.”
Daniels believes that these slingbags, which dons the postive message contained in the Bronx Rox logo, will help build up student’s pride in their community.
“The logo highlights the Bronx and I think that’s important because that’ll give them a boost to let them know that their borough is important,” said Daniels.
“There’s still so much to be done, but I think working with the community to make any small difference to uplift our borough is very important.”
I’m happy to have learnt about this initiative. I will donate.
Thank you so much!
