Homeless Cluster Cites Phasing Out in the Bronx

The Bronx Times reports that homeless clusters are dwindling around the borough because of the city’s initiative to phase out 360 cluster sites and building 90 newer and smaller shelters citywide.

Acknowledging how much damage cluster apartments have done to the Bronx, the city has been able to close 70 percent of them while adding homeless shelters.

  1. Probably because of gentrification … hard to sell units if too many homeless … always an underlying issue …
