According to the Bronx Times, youth fashion designer Edwin Reyes from the Bronx has released Mejorr, a new fashion publication that is designed to portray his home borough through a prism that keeps an eye on top fashions.
Reyes intends to use this publication as a vehicle to change the stereotype that the Bronx is rife with violence and a terrible place to live.
As for the magazine’s first edition, it has a strong sense of Bronx realism. Reyes and his crew shot the content in different locations around the borough: Fordham Road, Hunts Point, Third Avenue and Southern Boulevard.
Part of the goal of the project is to emphasize the hard work and grittiness that Reyes says helps define Bronx culture.
