The Norwood News has a follow-up story about the increasing number of commercial evictions on Kingsbridge Road. They reports that City Council members met to see how a small business bills package could potentially help the Kingsbridge merchants.
There have been about 4,000 business evictions in the City since January 2017 despite a law in place that protects commercial tenants from harassment.
But the president of the Kingsbridge Road Merchants Association believes its not enough, disclosing to the Norwood News that more needs to be done.
Some of the bills discussed included creating a database on vacant stores and free legal representation for eviction-threatened tenants.
