Two Bronx Neighborhoods Are Being Recognized For Their History

Six to Celebrate annually identifies six historic NYC neighborhoods that merit preservation. These will be priorities for HDC’s advocacy and consultation over a yearlong period. (Historic Districts Council)

 

The Historic Districts Council announced the “Six to Celebrate” which recognizes six historic NYC neighborhoods that deserve preservation and appreciation. Two well-known Bronx areas were among the six.

Arthur Avenue was chosen for its rich Italian-American history and businesses and Westchester Square for its 20th century innovation in transportation and architecture.
